Yum fails with error: No module named logging

  • Plesk 11.x for Linux


Yum fails to operate with error:

There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:

No module named logging

Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.

It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.6.6 (r266:84292, Jul 23 2015, 15:22:56)
[GCC 4.4.7 20120313 (Red Hat 4.4.7-11)]

If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please go to

  • Or corrupted python-libs-2.6.6-52.el6.x86_64 package.


  1. For Centos 6 download from repository .

    # wget http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/os/x86_64/Packages/python-libs-2.6.6-64.el6.x86_64.rpm
  2. Install via rpm:

    # rpm -i python-libs-2.6.6-64.el6.x86_64.rpm
