Specified outgoing mail IP isn't working

Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Linux

Symptoms

Outgoing mail IP address was changed via Plesk to 123.123.123.123 , but this is still sending from the IP relating to the domain 169.254.1.118 and is ignoring the setting in Plesk.

  •  ~]# postconf | grep smtp_bind_address
    smtp_bind_address = 123.123.123.123
  • ~]# iptables-save | grep NAT
    -A POSTROUTING -p tcp -m tcp --dport 25 -j SNAT --to-source 169.254.1.118

Cause

Firewall rules configured to map all outgoing traffic to old IP

Resolution

Remove or redefine mapping via iptables

# iptables -t nat -D POSTROUTING -p tcp -m tcp --dport 25 -j SNAT --to-source 169.254.1.118
