Plesk is not accessible: ERROR: bad arguments (key_info.php:32)

Applicable to:

  • Plesk Onyx for Linux
  • Plesk Onyx for Windows
  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

The following error occurs during an attempt to upload a license to Plesk:

PLESK_INFO: ERROR: bad arguments (key_info.php:32)

Recently, the old key was terminated and a new one uploaded. 

It is not possible to access Plesk.

Cause

Bug #PPP-30145. Will be fixed in further Plesk updates.

Resolution

  1. Connect to the server using SSH/RDP.

  2. Obtain a trial license from the Plesk website.

  3. Install it manually using:

    For Windows:

    C:\> "%plesk_cli%\license" -i XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

    For Linux:

    # plesk bin license -i XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX

  4. Install your Plesk activation key again in Tools & Settings > License Management:
