How to enable Demo mode in the Presence Builder

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.5 for Linux
  • Plesk Sitebuilder

Question

The Demo feature of the Presence Builder cannot be used.  When opening a URL like http://ppb.provider.com/ Demo, the following message appears:

Demo support is disabled

How to enable the Demo feature?

Answer

Follow the steps below to enable the Demo feature on the Presence Builder installation:

  1. Open the main configuration file /usr/local/sb/config in text editor.

  2. Add the following line to the [general] section:

    demo_mode = 1

  3. Optionally, set the following parameters in the same section in the file (the default values are provided in the example below):

  4. demo_max_file_size = 1048576 - maximal size of file which may be uploaded in demo mode (in bytes)

  5. demo_max_file_count = 10 - maximal number of files which may be uploaded in demo mode
  6. trial_site_life_time = 86400 - maximal lifetime of a trial site (in seconds)

Presence Builder web interface language is defined by the localeCode in the GET-parameter, otherwise, if the parameter is undefined, the fallback_locale parameter in the configuration file is being used (e.g. fallback_locale = en_US ).

When a customer opens URL like http://ppb.provider.com/Demo PPB creates trial site, web session and redirects the visitor to the Presence Builder web interface. If a customer already visited a particular Presence Builder installation, his session will be detected automatically and Presence Builder will open his trial site for editing.
