Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password

Symptoms

  1. When attempting to access File Manager, file sharing, or change domain user credentials, the following error appears:

    Internal error: Unable to logon user (SERVER\\username): (1326) Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. (Error code 1)

  2. When scanning for wordpress installations via Wordpress Toolkit the following error appears:

    Subscription "example.com": filemng failed: Unable to logon user (SERVER\\username): (1326) Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password. at LogonUser(SERVER\\username)(CClientProfile::logon line 146) at Plesk impersonation(PipeServer::ServerThread::impersonateWithoutProfile line 787) at execute "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\admin\\bin\\filemng.exe" username --find "--config=tmp2B3B.tmp" --recursive(RunTime::RunAsUser::run line 221) (Error code 1)

Resolution

Run the following command:

C:>"%plesk_cli%\\repair.exe" --synchronize-impersonation-storage

This will sync FTP users with the Plesk system databases.
