Unable to open the menu Tools & Settings > Updates & Upgrades (for Plesk 11 and higher) or Tools & Utilities > Updates (for Plesk 10), one of the following symptoms can be observed:
- the page just loads continuously.
- the blank page is displayed.
- the message
This site can’t be reachedappears in the browser.
- the page fails to load with the error
Port 8447 is blocked by the firewall.
Since Plesk 10, the menu Updates and Upgrades starts Plesk Installer, which provides access to its web interface on the port 8447. Verify that the port is open on your server and is not blocked by a firewall.

Note: Plesk Installer is not running all the time, but started on-demand when accessed through Plesk.
