- Plesk 12.0 for Linux
When attempting to add IP ranges in Plesk > Tools & Settings > IP Addresses > Add IP Address the following error appears:
CONFIG_TEXT: Error: ifmng failed: SIOCGIFADDR: Cannot assign requested address SIOCSIFBROADCAST: Cannot assign requested address SIOCSIFFLAGS: Cannot assign requested address /sbin/ifconfig 'eth0:32' '22.214.171.124' netmask '255.255.255.240' up exited with non-zero status 255
The issue is caused by the fact that such IP already assigned to a network interface:
# ip a | grep 126.96.36.199
inet 188.8.131.52/28 brd 184.108.40.206 scope global eth0:19
This is Plesk bug with ID #PPPM-4569, which is planned to be fixed in future Plesk updates.
- Connect to the server via SSH.
Shut down and remove the network interface using CLI. Here is an example for
# ifdown eth0:19
Add it back using Plesk functionality: Plesk > Tools & Settings > IP Addresses > Add IP Address .
Note: When using
Add IP Address
functionality, Plesk adds IP addresses to OS and to Plesk. If it is needed to add all IP addresses on the server only to Plesk, Plesk > Tools & Settings > IP Addresses > Reread IP option can be used.
