Plesk installation failed with the error below:
Trying to resolve hostname ’server.example.com' and validate its IP address...
Unable to resolve host name.
Please specify the host name in the /etc/hosts file or specify DNS configuration in the /etc/resolv.conf on your system.
ERROR while trying to check the hostname
Check the error reason(see log file: /var/log/plesk/install/plesk_12.5.30_installation.log), fix and try again
does not contain FQDN server name. The hostname is not resolvable locally or from a remote server.
1. Login to the server over SSH
2. Find the Plesk server FQDN:
3. Find server IP addresses:
# ip a
4. Add the "IP address - hostname" record to /etc/hosts, for example:
# echo "203.0.113.2 server server.example.com" >> /etc/hosts
