Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_gpc() in D:\\Plesk\\admin\\htdocs\\index.php on line 3

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.5 for Windows
  • Plesk 12.0 for Windows
  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

Plesk login page shows the following error:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_gpc() in D:\\Plesk\\admin\\htdocs\\index.php on line 3

Cause

  • Incorrect configuration of php.ini file used by Plesk.
  • Corrupted PleskControlPanel website

Resolution

Remove PleskControlPanel website from IIS and recreate it with Plesk Reconfigurator:

go to Start > Plesk Reconfigurator > Repair Plesk installation , uncheck all checkboxes except for Plesk services and press OK .

If it does not help, follow the steps below:

  1. Find out which php.ini file is used:
    C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\admin\\bin\\php-cgi.exe -i |findstr php.ini
Loaded Configuration File class="v"C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\admin\\php.ini

The file should be in %plesk_dir%\\admin directory (e.g. C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\admin ) and its content should be valid.

  1. If the path is different, check Plesk php-cgi.exe settings under IIS Administrator > Fastcgi settings > Plesk php-cgi.exe

" Monitor changes to file " option should not contain any path to a custom php.ini file.
