Question

How to customize The Plesk's password reminder message?

Answer

Content of Plesk's password reminder message is defined in the /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/locales/en-US/common_messages_en-US.php file (For English locale). It can be altered when needed using the following instructions:

  1. Back up the file:

    # cp /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/locales/en-US/common_messages_en-US.php /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/locales/en-US/common_messages_en-US.php.backup
  2. Edit the file. The following strings are used during the notification generation:

    # vi /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/locales/en-US/common_messages_en-US.php
    ...
    'ch_pass_by_secret__email_subject' => "The Plesk's password reminder",
    'ch_pass_by_secret__email_body' => "Dear %2,\

    %3\\ To set up a new password, please follow the link: %1", 'ch_pass_by_secret email_secret_request_admin' => "You requested the administrator\'s password by email. For security reasons, the administrator's password cannot be sent by email. However, you can set up a new password using the secret code you will find in this message.", 'ch_pass_by_secret message_secret_request_crypted' => "You requested your password by email. As your password was stored in the system in the encrypted form, it made no sense to send it by email: you would simply not be able to use it. However, you can set up a new password using the secret code you will find in this message.", ...

Please note that the notifications are in plain text, and HTML tags cannot be used.
