Question
How to choose a license for a destination Plesk server in case of migration?
Answer
-
Get a trial Plesk license (valid for 14 days and does not have any limitations on domains, languages or components):
-
Contact Plesk Sales team to request a trial license.
-
Fill in the form on this page.
-
-
Install a trial license and start a Plesk migration.
-
Check if an old Plesk license can be used and/or upgraded, or a new one should be purchased:
-
If Plesk version 9 or older one is installed on the source server, a new license must be purchased.
-
If Plesk versions are the same on the source and destination servers, the old license can be used.

OK, so just to be sure I understand correctly: if my current license version is Plesk Onyx Version 17.8.11, I can migrate a subscription containing 2 domains through a trial license, then (when the migration is done) import the domains separately in my current destination server (managed by the "old" license) without having to actually purchase a new/separate license?
@Beau Wickboldt
You need to install the trial license to the destination server, migrate everything from the source server, then remove the license from the old server and add it to the new one. There is no need to import domains after the migration: all files and configurations will be migrated to the destination server.
