The website shows a default Plesk page or one of the following errors:
CONFIG_TEXT: 404 Not Found error
CONFIG_TEXT: 403 Forbidden
CONFIG_TEXT: Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server
CONFIG_TEXT: HTTP Error 403.14 - Forbidden
The Web Server is configured to not lost the contents of this directory
Most likely causes:
A default document is not configured for the requested URL, and directory browsing is not enabled on the server.
The next error appears in the
CONFIG_TEXT: [error] 2010#0: *1943 open() "/var/www/vhosts/example.com/httpdocs/index.html" failed (2: No such file or directory), client: 203.0.113.2, server: ba hostname.com, request: "GET / HTTP/1.1", upstream: "http://198.51.100.2:7080/", host: "hostname.com"

The following error is present in the
CONFIG_TEXT: *850866 directory index of "/var/www/vhosts/example.com/httpdocs/" is forbidden, server: hostname.com, request: "GET / HTTP/1.1", host: "hostname.com"
The index file (
index.html, index.php, etc) is missing in Plesk > Domains > example.com > File Manager or has incorrect name.
The missing index file under the domain home folder or its improper name.
- Domains > example.com > Apache & nginx Settings in Plesk for Linux.
- Domains > example.com > IIS Settings in Plesk for Windows.
Add the name of the custom index file:
- Plesk for Linux: set the parameter Index files to Enter custom value and add the name of the custom index file to the appeared field.
- Plesk for Windows: set the parameter Default documents to Enter values and add the name of the custom index file to the appeared field.
Click OK in the bottom of the page to save the changes.
