Plesk upgrade failed: Unknown column ipAddress in where clause

Symptoms

Plesk Panel upgrade fails with the error message like this:

Unknown column ipAddress in where clause

Cause

  • The issue can be caused by the custom directive 'sql-mode' in the '/etc/my.cnf' configuration file.
  • Absence of psa.ServiceNodes.ipAddress field

Resolution

  1. Remove the custom entry from MySQL configuration.

  2. Restore the 'psa' and 'apsc' databases from pre-upgrade dumps:

        # MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysql -u admin psa < mysql.<previous_plesk_version>-<upgrade_plesk_version>.<date_timestamp.dump

    # MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysql -u admin apsc < mysql.preupgrade.apsc.<previous_plesk_version>-<upgrade_plesk_version>.<date_timestamp>.dump

    As an example:

    # MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysql -u admin psa < mysql.preupgrade.11.0.9-11.5.30.20140320-224641.dump

    # MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysql -u admin apsc < mysql.preupgrade.apsc.11.0.9-11.5.30.20140320-224641.dump

Pre-upgrade dumps could be found in '/var/lib/psa/dumps'

  3. Run the 'bootstrapper' script to restart upgrade process by the following commands:

    Plesk 11.5

    # /usr/local/psa/bootstrapper/pp<plesk_version>-bootstrapper/bootstrapper.sh prep-install
    # /usr/local/psa/bootstrapper/pp11.5.30-bootstrapper/bootstrapper.sh rerun

    Plesk 12:

    # /usr/local/psa/bootstrapper/pp12.0.18-bootstrapper/bootstrapper.sh prep-install
    # /usr/local/psa/bootstrapper/pp12.0.18-bootstrapper/bootstrapper.sh rerun
