How to recreate mail handlers in Plesk 10.4 and later

Question

How to recreate mail handlers in Plesk 10.4 and later?

Answer

1. Check if mail handlers exist on your server:

    # /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mail_handlers_control --list

 'SpamAssassin' or 'DrWeb' can be temporarily enabled and an email sent to a mailbox on the server (locally):

    server4:~# mail server4@example.com
Subject: test
test
.
Cc:
server4:~#

2. Examine the mail log to see if the mail handlers are executed:

    # tail /usr/local/psa/var/log/maillog | grep qmail-queue-handlers
Mar 29 09:32:23 server4 qmail-queue-handlers...
...

3. Recreate mail handlers

3.1 Run mchk to regenerate mail handlers:

# /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/mchk --with-spam
==> Checking for: mailsrv_conf_init... ok
==> Checking for: mail_handlers_init... ok
==> Checking for: mailsrv_entities_dump... ok
==> Checking for: mail_admin_aliases... ok
==> Checking for: mail_auth_dump... ok
==> Checking for: mailman_lists_dump... ok
==> Checking for: mail_kav8_restore... ok
==> Checking for: mail_responder_restore... ok
==> Checking for: mail_spam_restore... ok
==> Checking for: mail_grey_restore... ok
==> Checking for: mail_mailbox_restore... ok
==> Checking for: mail_spf_restore... ok
==> Checking for: mail_dk_restore... ok
==> Checking for: mail_drweb_restore... ok
#

3.2 Check that the mail handlers were created and that they are applied by repeating the steps #1 and #2.
