Plesk updates failing after database change to Percona on CentOS 7

Symptoms

When trying to install micro-updates or any Plesk component on CentOS 7 an error pops up.Following error can be found in /usr/local/psa/admin/logs/panel.log :

ERROR while trying to detect MySQL service name
Check the error reason(see log file: /var/log/plesk/install/plesk_12.5.30_repair.log), fix and try again

Database server is Percona.

Cause

Bug #PPPM-4079 . It is fixed in Plesk Onyx.

Resolution

Upgrade to the latest Plesk version .

If upgrade is not possible, create the symbolic links to systemctl services:

# ln -s /usr/lib/systemd/system/mysqld.service /usr/lib/systemd/system/mariadb.service
# ln -s /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/mysqld.service /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants/mariadb.service

Reload systemctl

# systemctl daemon-reload

Run the following to detect MySQL service:

# service psa status
