"Unable to lookup SID for the name IUSR_example.com: (1332) No mapping between account names and security IDs was done. (Error code 1)"

Symptoms

  1. When you open the File Manager in Plesk, the following error is shown:

    Unable to lookup SID for name IUSR_example.com: (1332) No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.
    (Error code 1)

    or the following one:

    Unable to lookup SID for name IWPG_example.com: (1332) No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.
    (Error code 1)
  2. When you run %plesk_cli%\\repair.exe --repair-webspace-security -webspace-name example.com , the above errors are shown in CLI.

  3. Migration finishes with the following warning:

    Can not deploy web-content of domain example.com

    Warning:
    ForeignMigratorCore.MigratorException: System.Exception: Get flags failed of user (IUSR_example.com): (2221) The user name could not be found.

Cause

The required user does not exist in the system.

Resolution

To resolve this issue:

  1. Run the following command:

    "%plesk_cli%\\repair.exe"  --update-app-pools-groups
  2. If the first step did not help, create the required user:

    Server Manager > Tools > Computer management > Users and Groups > Create new user .

    Or create a user via CLI. Execute the following commands:

    net user USERNAME /add
    net localgroup psacln USERNAME /add
  3. Recover the correct permissions for the domain using the repair utility:

    "%plesk_cli%\\repair.exe"  --repair-webspace-security -webspace-name example.com
