Plesk backup email notifications are not received. The notification is sent out, but the receiver only gets bounced by public mail services, such as Gmail or Yahoo:

The same email address (notification recipient) is used as a sender and a recipient. This is the bug with ID PPPM-4915 . It was fixed in Plesk Onyx.
Upgrade to Plesk Onyx.

Download, unpack and replace
/usr/local/psa/admin/share/pmmcli/pmmcli_daemon_actions.pyfile with its patched copy .
/usr/local/psa/admin/share/pmmcli/pmmcli-rcuncomment the following entries and specify sender email address (e.g. email of Plesk administrator):
# Notification mail 'mail-from' parameter
# Notification mail 'mail-reply-to' parameter
pmmcli_daemon_actions.pyfile and replace original one:
# wget https://support.plesk.com/hc/article_attachments/115004516445/pmmcli_daemon_actions_12.5.zip
# unzip pmmcli_daemon_actions_12.5.zip
# cp ./pmmcli_daemon_actions.py /usr/local/psa/admin/share/pmmcli/pmmcli_daemon_actions.py
