Backup warning: Cannot dump dns record: Requested value 'none' was not found.

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.5 for Windows

Symptoms

On Plesk 11.5.30 for Windows the following warning is shown after domain backup creation:

Cannot dump dns record[Requested value 'none' was not found.]

The 'none' value became set for the PTR records with suspended subscriptions:

mysql> select id,displayHost,displayVal from dns_recs where type='none';
+------+-------------+----------------+
| id | displayHost | displayVal |
+------+-------------+----------------+
| 1112 | domain.qwe. | domain.qwe. |
+------+-------------+----------------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

Cause

Type 'none' is used by BL to mark DNS records which should be deleted by backend. This status is set after user click 'Apply to backend' in GUI. Plesk should not backup such DNS records indeed it shows Warnings during backup.This is a known issue and will be fixed in the future updates. Issue ID is PPPM-995.

Resolution

Login to Plesk database and find the dns records where column type has value 'none':

mysql> select id,displayHost,displayVal from dns_recs where type='none';
+------+-------------+----------------+
| id | displayHost | displayVal |
+------+-------------+----------------+
| 1112 | domain.qwe. | domain.qwe. |
+------+-------------+----------------+
1 row in set (0.00 sec)

To update DNS records with only affected domain:

mysql> begin;
mysql> update domains, dns_recs set dns_recs.type='PTR' where dns_recs.dns_zone_id=domains.dns_zone_id and domains.name='AFFECTED_DOMAIN_NAME'
mysql> commit;

To update all PTR records with 'none' value:

mysql> begin;
mysql> update dns_recs set type='PTR' where type='none';
mysql> commit;
