Limitations on outgoing email messages do not work for Outlook

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.5 for Windows

Symptoms

Limitations on outgoing email messages are enabled on the server, but don't work for Outlook . Outlook is configured for outgoing email authentication with user name in UPN format (username@domain.tld)

Cause

Outlook keeps sending local part of user name instead of user name in UPN format:

csp12 postfix/smtpd[27896]: 97D2D101AFA: client=servername.domain.tld[1.2.3.4], sasl_method=DIGEST-MD5, sasl_username=user

Resolution

The issue is specific to Outlook . Please contact Microsoft regarding this issue.
