What for php-fpm pool "www" is used?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.x for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Question

All the sites have their own php-fpm pools with its domain name:

`php-fpm: pool domain.tld`

But what for php-fpm pool www is used?

`php-fpm: pool www`

Answer

A php-fpm pool www is not used by Plesk, it is created by default during php-fpm package installation. Its configuration file is located at:

# cat /etc/php5/fpm/pool.d/www.conf

It can be safety disabled. To disble it set pm = ondemand in /etc/php5/fpm/pool.d/www.conf :

#grep pm /etc/php5/fpm/pool.d/www.conf
pm = ondemand

In this case pool will not be created during php-fpm start and will not be created lately because Plesk does not use it.
