When a user attempts to authenticate via Mail Enable webmail following error occurs:
'Unknown or Disabled User!'
There are several reasons why this issue may occur. These are listed below in the order of probability:
The account or password was specified incorrectly.
The account being used has been disabled in the MailEnable Administration program.
IIS APPPOOL\MailEnable WebMailaccount does not have the correct permissions to access the
POSTOFFICESfolder and their sub-folders, usually they are located in
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\Mail Servers\\Mail Enable\\
Following errors could be found in event logs, for example:
General: (MailEnable Authentication TD Provider error: 0) An error occured when accessing the resource: "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\Mail Servers\\Mail Enable\\CONFIG\\AUTH.TAB" as user "SERVER\\IME_ADMIN". The error reported was: (5) Access is denied.
Web mail has been disabled for this user.
In the first case you, please make sure that specified credentials are correct. For additional information, please refer to MailEnable documentation .
Open the Administration Program and select the account that is being used to access webmail. Right click on the mailbox and ensure that it is enabled and active for use.
Reconfigure the permissions using
MEInstaller.exeRun this binary and select the first option
Common installation(file permissions)which will configure all the permissions for MailEnable. It will ask for the password, you can provide any random password into it. By the default, this utility located in the following directory:
C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\Mail Servers\\Mail Enable\\Bin\\MEInstaller.exe"
This is a feature of
MailEnable Enterpriseand can be enabled by viewing the Service Selection mailbox properties in the administration program, ensure the webmail service is "Enabled" for that mailbox. Also, ensure that the webmail is enabled for the post office.
