Unable to reset Default site for an IP address: Site does not exist in IIS

Symptoms

Unable to set Default site as None for an IP address at Home > Tools & Settings > IP Addresses > :

Error: Site example.com does not exist at IISWebSites::get() In IIS7NativeProvider module Exception type: System.Exception at IISWebSites.get(IISWebSites* , unique_ptr >* , basic_string\\,std::allocator >* idnName) at resetDefaultDomainForIp(203.0.113.2)(WebServerAdapter::resetDefaultDomainForIp line 1170) at execute console command --reset-default-domain(vconsoleapp::start line 100) at execute "C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\admin\\bin64\\websrvmng.exe" --reset-default-domain "--ip-address=203.0.113.2"(vconsoleapp::run line 117) (Error code 1)

The domain does not exist in Plesk as well as in IIS.

Cause

Old site cache in IIS.

Resolution

Remove the site cache from IIS with the following command via command prompt in privileged mode (as Administrator):

"%plesk_dir%"\\admin\\bin\\websrvmng.exe --remove-sites-cache
