[How to] Disable auto-reply option if email is sent to several mailaccounts?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.x for Linux

Question

How to disable auto-reply option that is set on user1@example.com if email is sent to several mailaccounts at once, including user1@example.com?

Answer

If recipients are listed as user1@example.com, user2@example.com, etc., then auto-reply option will work. The same goes for situations when there is Forwarding enabled on user2@example.com to forward emails to user1@example.com. This is expected behavior.

To prevent auto-reply from being sent, setup Mailing List so that all required emails are included into the list. This way, an email will be sent to list@example.com and auto-reply from user1@example.com will not be sent.

For details about setting up Mailing List, visit Plesk Administrator Guide .
