Plesk license key is not renewed automatically

Applicable to:

  • Plesk for Linux

Symptoms

Plesk is not renewing license key automatically.

Cause

/etc/cron.d/dailyjobs is missing and Daily Maintenance script is not executed.

Resolution

Daily Maintenance task is used for license checking and updating:

# cat /etc/cron.daily/50plesk-daily
#!/bin/sh

# install_statistics
/usr/local/psa/bin/sw-engine-pleskrun /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/DailyMaintainance/script.php >/dev/null 2>&1

# install_mysqldump
/usr/local/psa/bin/mysqldump.sh >/dev/null 2>&1

The task /etc/cron.daily/ is executed from the /etc/cron.d/dailyjobs , but dailyjobs file does not exist:

# ll /etc/cron.d/dailyjobs
ls: cannot access /etc/cron.d/dailyjobs: No such file or directory

Create /etc/cron.d/dailyjobs file with the following content:

# cat /etc/cron.d/dailyjobs
SHELL=/bin/bash
PATH=/sbin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin
MAILTO=root
HOME=/

# run-parts
02 4 * * * root [ ! -f /etc/cron.hourly/0anacron ] && run-parts /etc/cron.daily
22 4 * * 0 root [ ! -f /etc/cron.hourly/0anacron ] && run-parts /etc/cron.weekly
42 4 1 * * root [ ! -f /etc/cron.hourly/0anacron ] && run-parts /etc/cron.monthly
