Question
How to access the Plesk interface in a web browser?
Answer
You can log in to the Plesk web interface using your Plesk account credentials, root or administrator password, or SSH key.
Note: A port to log in to Plesk over HTTPS must be opened in a firewall. By default, the port is 8443.
To log in to the Plesk web interface using your Plesk account credentials, do the following:
-
In the browser’s address bar, type in the Plesk login page link in the following format:
https://<Server hostname or IP address>:8443
.Note: You may see an SSL warning, which means that a proper SSL certificate is not installed yet. It is safe to skip the warning this time.
-
Enter your Plesk account username and password (we will use admin as an example):
-
Click Log In.
As a result, you will access the Plesk web interface.
Note: If access to Plesk is disabled for the root user, you won’t be able to log in to Plesk this way.
To log in to Plesk using the Linux server root account password, do the following:
-
In the browser’s address bar, type in the Plesk login page link in the following format:
https://<Server hostname or IP address>:8443
.Note: You may see an SSL warning, which means that a proper SSL certificate is not installed yet. It is safe to skip the warning this time.
-
Enter root and the root password you use for connecting to the server:
-
Click Log In.
As a result, you will access the Plesk web interface.
Note: If access to Plesk is disabled for the Administrator user, you won’t be able to log in to Plesk this way.
To log in to Plesk using the Windows server administrator account password, do the following:
-
In the browser’s address bar, type in the Plesk login page link in the following format:
https://<Server hostname or IP address>:8443
.Note: You may see an SSL warning, which means that a proper SSL certificate is not installed yet. It is safe to skip the warning this time.
-
Enter administrator and the administrator password you use for connecting to the server:
-
Click Log In.
As a result, you will access the Plesk web interface.
To access Plesk via SSH, you need to access the Plesk server first, and then generate a one-time login link. Here’s how to do it:
-
Connect to the Plesk server using a special program called an SSH client. SSH clients may vary depending on the operating system:
-
For Linux and macOS. Use any SSH client that suits you best. You’ll need to set the specific permissions for your SSH key and place the key to the designated folder:
-
For Windows. We recommend that you use PuTTY, which is a free SSH client. If you use PuTTY, you will need to convert your SSH key to the PuTTY-specific format:
-
-
After you’ve accessed the Plesk server, generate a one-time login link by running the following command:
# plesk login
You’ll see two links in the following formats:
https://<Server hostname>/login?secret=<session_token>
https://<Server IP address>/login?secret=<session_token>
-
Copy and paste one of the generated links into the browser’s address bar.
-
First, use the link in the following format:
https://<Server hostname>/login?secret=<session_token>
. -
If the link to the server hostname doesn’t work for any reason, use the link in the following format:
https://<Server IP address>/login?secret=<session_token>
.Note: If the Plesk server is behind a NAT, the server generates only a link to a private IP address. Change the private IP address to the public one and paste it into the browser’s address bar.
Note: You may see an SSL warning, which means that a proper SSL certificate is not installed yet. It is safe to skip the warning this time.
-
You can log in to Plesk on Amazon Lightsail using SSH keys and SSH clients, for example:
-
Terminal, a command-line application for Linux and macOS:
-
PuTTY, an SSH client for Windows:
You can log in to Plesk on DigitalOcean in the following ways:
-
Using the root username and password:
-
Using SSH keys:
As a Plesk user, you can always restore the password to your Plesk account if you forgot it. Here’s how to do it:
-
On the Plesk login page, click the Forgot your password? link:
-
In the Reset password window, specify your email address or username:
-
Click Send.
-
You will receive an email for resetting your password. Follow the steps described in the email to restore your access to Plesk.
Note: If you don’t receive an email, contact your Plesk administrator.
If you are the Plesk administrator, you can restore your password using the Plesk Command Line Interface. For more information, read the following articles:
If you don’t have any Plesk account credentials yet or you forgot them, do one of the following:
-
As the Plesk administrator. Contact your server hosting provider that rents you the server.
-
As any other user. Contact your Plesk administrator.
After you’ve received your credentials, log in to Plesk using one of the ways described in this article. Choose the way that suits you best.

Dear Plesk:
I need to reset my password but I get no link from Plesk. I just get a message that says: A Responsive Email template.
How can I contact someone at Plesk to help me reset my password?
Thanks,
Greg Felton
Hello Greg Felton
In case you have the server administrator access, use this instruction: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213381869
If you're renting a hosting from a hosting company, it's required to contact the company, from which you're renting it.
Hi, could you please update the Domain Name Server in the records so our site start working.
THANKS
Hello Javed Khan
Plesk is a product used by web hosters to manage hosting servers. You will need to contact the company, which provides hosting services to you.
Como faço para solicitar o aumento de minha memória na hospedagem?
Hello,
Today my website has unexpectedly stopped working without any code changes.
I can not even get to the Plesk GUI using the :8443 method (I usually am able to), without getting a "This site can’t be reached" error.
Any probable causes for this? Was my site the target of a DDOS attack?
Thank you.
Hello Cbordon,
It seems the issue can be related to the fact the server itself is unavailable. Hence I recommend you contact the hosting provider for further investigation.
If access to the server is possible I suggest you create a request to Technical Support in order to check the issue further.
My programs need to find files in the home directory. What is the disk drive letter to use? Example: G:\PleskVhosts\aubrick.net\httpdocs. What letter should I use instead of G?
Thanks
i have been blocked can anyone tell me the solution
Hello
I purchased windows shared / windows enterprise hosting plan through HostGator on 22/Nov/2021 for domain www.beyonddchange.com. Unfortunately, HostGator did not provide me any login details (username and password) for the control panel (Plesk). Consequently, I cannot login to Plesk. I called HostGator to report the issue, but they redirected me to your team.
Kindly provide me my username and password for Plesk for domain www.beyonddchange.com.
Best Regards,
Bernard
Dear Plesk,
I have two-factor authentication enabled for login and I recently damaged my phone. Is there a way to disable 2F authentication? I've blocked all ways to access details and this is production?
My registered email is admin@dpskanpur.com
I'm stuck on how to create Username? any assistant please!!
Hello Kristof Josef,
User with the name 'admin' is created by default during the Plesk initialization.
If the password for user 'admin' is lost, use any other available method from the article to log in to Plesk.
You may also try the solution from the following article for resetting the user 'admin' password via the command line.
very hard to use plesk , i'm try to upload my website but it still go to default website plesk information.

And when using plesk mobile, can login the file management, but cannot login database.
Don't know what is the problem.

Hello Emir Demirtaş,
Please clarify which username do you mean? Do you know the password for user 'root' (for Linux) or user 'Administrator' (for Windows)?
After installation of Plesk on Ubunutu 22.04 via one-click install, what username and password should be used?
I tried many options, but none of them works:
U: admin / P: admin
U: admin / P: "root password"
U: root / P: "root password"
I have also read: https://docs.plesk.com/en-US/obsidian/administrator-guide/about-plesk/logging-in-to-plesk-for-the-first-time.74769/ , but it didn't help.
Hello Vojkan Cvijanovic,
In general, the 'root-root password' combination should work unless this option is disabled in the 'panel.ini' file.
If the password for user 'admin' was not set or was lost, you may consider generating a one-time login link to log in to Plesk without a password or resettings the password as per the article: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213381869.
Comment répondre à une offre d'emploi dont le lien nous renvoi vers cette page ?
good afternoon sir, why can't we login to this site anymore?
I look so much forward to the day, all these PLESK IT EXPERTS realise what crap their PLESK panel is. Nothing works, nothing is correct what they talk, nothing is understood what is told to them.
They can't even get a simple Plesk Panel login process working.
Oh, now I need to explain again for the next 25 weeks. Right!
Well, Plesk IT Experts, why don't you login to your own creation, click on "Web Hosting Access", Change (because YOUR original credentials, given to automatically generated by your creation won't work) those credentials to whatever you want and then try to login.
Go on, Try your own creation and then get back to me. I wanna read your intelligent comment again.
I'm so rude, am I?
I am sick and tired of this crap!
Hello Norbert,
Let me highlight that credentials from 'Domains > example.com > Web Hosting Access' menu can not be used to access the Plesk panel. They are system users' credentials that are required for accessing the server over FTP and SSH/RDP if allowed.
The article above described all the available methods for accessing Plesk either knowing the Plesk 'admin' user password or SSH/RDP credentials.
To reset the Plesk admin's password please refer to another article: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/213410689.
You're talking about two different things, Anastasia, and that, without understanding my point.
Plesk will hear from me on another occasion and then they can explain their chaos (following my screenshots).
That said, in "English", what does "Web Hosting Access" translate into 'Your' Language? Because in MY language it translates what the words say!: Web ...Hosting ...Access. Language can be so simple, if you can speak/comprehend it, without saying something what you don't mean and mean something but can't say it.
Too confusing?
Sure it is. Based on Plesk IT Experts replies to ANY query.
where's the login?
Norbert Harms honestly, shut up mate. if you don't have a brain to understand what their doing, please consult a professional. their unpaid volunteers, give it a break.
Hola:
Estoy intentando ingresar al panel Plesk que me pasó un cliente y yendo por la vía de https://dominiocliente.com:8443 SIEMPRE me da un time out. Lo he probado con la IP y lo mismo.
¿Estoy haciendo algo incorrecto?
Edwin
Hello Edwin,
Make sure that access from your local computer's IP address is allowed in a firewall on this server: https://support.plesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003673133. If you do not have direct aces over SSH/RDP, ask the server owner to check it.
