    This is a bit confusing!  I know there have been ftp transactions today, but /var/log/plesk/xferlog is zero bytes and last updated hours ago at 03:51

    Your article says that /var/log/plesk/xferlog is what should be entered into the /etc/proftpd.conf (which it is) but then goes on to say that "proFTPd writes all FTP statistics to /usr/local/psa/var/log/xferlog" which it turns out is a symbolic link pointing to /var/log/plesk/xferlog - so you can see how this is confusing!

    And to confuse matters more, some of my domains have details logged in the /var/www/vhosts/[domain name]/logs/xferlog_regular but sod's law, the one I am looking for and know that there have been sftp transfers today (and every ten minutes for the past year), doesn't even have any xferlog* files at all.

    Is there some configuration in Plesk Administration that turns on or off the xferlog on a per-domain basis?  If so, for security reasons. why would you want to turn this off?!

    @Brian, Hi!

    '/usr/local/psa/var/log/xferlog' is the path that was used in old Plesk versions. under some circumstances, TransferLog parameter in '/etc/proftpd.conf' is not changed during upgrades from old versions and therefore, the symlink is created in order to make sure FTP logs will be generated.

    In the case you described, logs are not generated because SFTP protocol was used instead of FTP. Please, note that Plesk does not support SFTP even though it may function properly.

    No, there is no such configuration in Plesk.
