Parallels Web Presence Builder: Google Search does not work on my sites

Symptoms

The Google search module does not work properly. You might get the following message upon a search attempt:

Your search did not match any results. Results may not be available if your website has not been published or indexed by the search engine.

The following error is shown in the Error Console (FireBug):

TypeError: a is undefined @ http://www.google.com/uds/api/search/1.0/65b21018ad4df09e3eb5a21326b72d0b/default+ru.I.js:485

Cause

The issue is related to the ' Google Search API ' being deprecated or End Of Life.

Resolution

  1. The Search module was redesigned to address the issue with the deprecated Google API in Parallels Presence Builder 11.5.11. Consider upgrading to the latest version of Parallels Presence Builder.

  2. As a workaround, you can use a custom search, e.g., Google Custom Search, by performing the steps in the following link:

https://developers.google.com/custom-search/

After generating a code, you should apply it to the site http://www.example.com by doing the following:

1. Open "http://www.example.com" for editing in the Web Presence Builder.

2. Click on the "Search" module on the page and set the option "Other."

3. Paste the code generated by Google in the field that appears.
