Unable to restore a backup: Can not deploy content of domain example.com

Symptoms

  • Unable to restore domain backup, the following error occurs if open log from warning message:

    Warning: Restore hosting "example.com"
    Can not deploy content of domain example.com
    ......
    Archive error: from
    /var/lib/psa/dumps/clients/user.user@example/domains/example.com/backup_user-data_1606082113.tgz
    /var/lib/psa/dumps/clients/user.user@example/domains/example.com/backup_user-data_1606082113.tgz1
    ....
    cat: /var/lib/psa/dumps/clients/user.user/domains/example.com/backup_user-data_1606082113.tgz: No such file or directory
    cat: /var/lib/psa/dumps/clients/user.user/domains/example.com/backup_user-data_1606082113.tgz1: No such file or directory
    ...
  • Domain is using multi-volume backups functionality

  • A customer has symbol in login name.

Cause

This is Plesk bug with ID PPPM-4628 which has been fixed in Plesk Onyx.

Resolution

As a workaround:

  1. Move the subscription from customer to Plesk administrator.
  2. Restore what is necessary.
  3. Move the subscription back to a customer.
