FTP backup fails: Unable to parse options: Bad FTP file format at /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/plesk_agent_manager

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 10.x for Linux
  • Plesk 11.x for Windows
  • Plesk 11.x for Linux

Symptoms

  • Scheduled or manual FTP backup fails;
  • There are the following records in /usr/local/psa/PMM/sessions/TIME-STAMP file:

    CONFIG_TEXT: Unable to parse options: Bad FTP file format at /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/plesk_agent_manager line 275, <VERSION> line 1.
    at /usr/local/psa/admin/bin/plesk_agent_manager line 275

Cause

FTP backup is chosen in backup settings, but FTP backup repository is not configured.

Resolution

Make sure that FTP backup repository is configured:

  1. Log into Plesk.

  2. Go to Plesk > Domains> example.com > Backup Manager > FTP Storage Settings and check FTP settings.
