Sometimes mail gets stuck in the mail queue for 5 days and fills up the queue. How to change the mail queue lifetime for Postfix?
By default, Postfix, like most mail services, will keep trying to deliver mail for 5 days. It is the default behavior of Postfix and depends on the parameter '
maximal_queue_lifetime' configured in Postfix. Connect to the server via SSH to check the current value:
# postconf | grep maximal_queue_lifetime
maximal_queue_lifetime = 5d
In a case when the value should be changed, execute the following command:
# postconf -e 'maximal_queue_lifetime = 1d'
