MailEnable can not start IMAP service

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.x for Windows
  • Plesk 12.0 for Windows

Symptoms

MailEnable IMAP service cannot be started with the following error:

"Error - 1060: The specified service does not exist as an installed service"

or

"General: (MailEnable System Option Provider error: 1060) Could not open service. Error = 1060 for MEIMAPS"

Cause

Standalone MailEnable Standard does not support IMAP by default. Plesk has customized MailEnable distributive. During Plesk installation MailEnable is installed with IMAP support by default.

Resolution

Reinstall MailEnable with IMAP support using special installation options:

    mailenable.exe /B /IMAP

Note . By default, installation package of MailEnable for Plesk is stored in the folder:

    C:\\ParallelsInstaller\\parallels\\PANEL-WIN_11.5.30\\dist-msi-Microsoft-2003-i386\\

In case of missed distributive, download it from Plesk for Windows Repository .
