Standard forwarding in Plesk cannot be applied to IIS settings

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.5 for Windows

Symptoms

Plesk 11.5 for Windows. Standard forwarding does not apply to IIS settings. The destination addres configured in Plesk is http://newdomain.tld/path/to/redirect/ but if I go to IIS Manager -> domain.tld -> HTTP Rediect the old domain name is still persists:

I tried to reconfigure it with

 "%plesk_cli%repair.exe" --reconfigure-web-site -web-site-name domain.tld

and it did not help.

Cause

  1. Custom config file web.conf is located in the home directory ( C:\\Inetpub\\vhosts\\forwarding ) with the content:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

  2. Custom redirect is configured on the server lever. Open IIS Manager and go to "COMPUTER_NAME" -> HTTP Redirect

Resolution

Rename the file C:\\Inetpub\\vhosts\\forwarding\\web.config to C:\\Inetpub\\vhosts\\forwarding\\web_renamed.config and reapply settings in Plesk Panel.
