[How To] How to change default URL of a site that was published using PP/SiteBuilder from "www.domain.com/site" to "www.domain.com"

Resolution

When SiteBuilder is integrated with Parallels Plesk Panel (PP), the default working directory in the publishing settings of SiteBuilder is set as "/httpdocs/site."

It is by design that the file content is stored in the /httpdocs/sitebuilder folder - this helps to prevent you from confusing the files generated by SiteBuilder with the original content of Plesk domain public root folder, /httpdocs . To change the default URL of sites published with SiteBuilder from www.domain.com/site to www.domain.com , please follow the steps described below:

1) In the SiteBuilder publishing settings for the domain, change "Web site URL" to http://domain.com and "Working directory" to /httpdocs/ .

2) Redefine the order of the domain's default pages (the default.htm and default.asp pages must be on top) in PP accordingly.

3) Click on the "Verify Location" option to check the settings.

4) Republish the site in SiteBuilder with the new settings. If errors occur, rename /httpdocs/web.config to /httpdocs/web.config.old and try to publish the domain again.
