After upgrading to Plesk 12 domains are not shown in Plesk

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Windows
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Symptoms

After upgrading Plesk all or some domains are missing in Domains menu.

Cause

Web Admin Edition license key is used in Plesk 12 that does not allow managing customers or resellers so only subscriptions that belong to an admin are visible now. If admin did not have any subscriptions in the previous version of Plesk prior to upgrade, then Domains menu will not show any domains.

Resolution

Either re-activate Plesk with Web Pro or Web Host edition license that supports customers and resellers management, or change the ownership of the subscription:

On Windows

  1. List the current subscriptions:

    %plesk_bin%\\subscription.exe --list
    example1.com
    example2.com
    ...
  2. Find out the owner of subscriptions by executing:

    %plesk_bin%\\subscription.exe --info example1.com
    ...
    Owner's contact name: John
    ...
  3. Change the ownership of the subscription:

    %plesk_bin%\\subscription.exe --change-owner example1.com -owner AdminUserName

where AdminUserName is plesk administrator user name ( admin by default, but could be customized). Can be retrieved from database:

    %plesk_bin%\\dbclient.exe --direct-sql --sql="select type from clients where id='1'"

On Linux

  1. List the current subscriptions:

    # /usr/local/psa/bin/subscription --list

    example1.com
    example2.com
    ...
  2. Find out the owner of subscriptions by executing:

    # /usr/local/psa/bin/subscription --info example1.com
    ...
    Owner's contact name: John
    ...
  3. Change the ownership of the subscription:

    # /usr/local/psa/bin/subscription --change-owner example1.com -owner AdminUserName

where AdminUserName is plesk administrator user name ( admin by default, but could be customized). Can be retrieved from database:

    # MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysql -u admin psa -Ne "select type from clients where id=1"
