Plesk upgrade fails with one of the following errors:
CONFIG_TEXT: Can not bind a socket to address host.example.com:715 - Cannot assign requested address
CONFIG_TEXT: Please specify the host name in the /etc/hosts file or specify DNS configuration in the /etc/resolv.conf on your system.
ERROR while trying to check the hostname
plesk installerthrows a warning in the beginning of the upgrade:
CONFIG_TEXT: Your host name must resolve to the correct IP address of your server, unless you are using network address translation (NAT).
Please quit Parallels Installer, fix the host name resolution problem,
and then try installing again.
You can skip the hostname check and continue the installation, however,
in such a case, the installer cannot guarantee successful installation.
Connect to the server via SSH.
Check the server hostname:
Specify the server IP and hostname in
/etc/hostsfile as follows:
CONFIG_TEXT: 203.0.113.2 host.example.com
If the server has several IP addresses, use one that is resolved externally.Click here to see the command and output to check the IP address.
# nslookup host.example.com
Note: if the server is behind NAT, use the internal server's IP address.
