400 Bad Request On Plesk Login when redirecting to https

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.5 for Linux

Symptoms

When trying to access Plesk via http om 8443 port it should redirect to https .

    http://203.0.113.2:8443/login_up.php3

Instead it returns a ' 400 Bad Request ' error.

Cause

Software issue PPPM-6162. It is going to be fixed in future Plesk MU.

Resolution

Until a fix become available use the following workaround:

1. Add the following line into /etc/sw-cp-server/conf.d/plesk.conf

    error_page 497 https://$host:$server_port$request_uri;

For example:

server {
listen 8443 ssl;
listen 8880;
include conf.d/*ipv6_ports.inc;

ssl_certificate /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/httpsd.pem;
ssl_certificate_key /usr/local/psa/admin/conf/httpsd.pem;

include conf.d/*plesk.inc;
include conf.d/*wpb.inc;
include conf.d/*cbm.inc;
include conf.d/*sso.inc;
error_page 497 https://$host:$server_port$request_uri;
}

2. Restart sw-cp-server service:

# systemctl restart sw-cp-serer
