Mail accounts with "Access to the Control Panel" option set cannot log into Panel if password is encrypted

Symptoms

Mail accounts with "Access to the Control Panel" option set cannot log into Panel if the password is encrypted. The following error is displayed:

Error: You have entered incorrect username or password.

The users had an encrypted password before the upgrade.

NOTE: PLAIN authentication works without issues, even if passwords are encrypted.

Cause

The issue is considered to be a software issue, request ID is PPPM-1405. it will be fixed in future product updates.

Resolution

Change the password for those users who have encrypted passwords before the upgrade.

To get a list of mail users with encrypted passwords:

mysql -uadmin -p`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` -Dpsa -e "select mail_name, domains.name as domain from accounts, mail,domains where dom_id = domains.id and mail.account_id = accounts.id and type='crypt'"

For Plesk 12.5 the custom fix can be applied to procced withot password changing:

For RHEL/CentOS:

# cd /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/Smb/Db/Table/Row/
# mv User.php User.php.bak
# wget https://plesk.zendesk.com/hc/article_attachments/115004329605/User.php

For Debian/Ubuntu:

# cd /opt/psa/admin/plib/Smb/Db/Table/Row/
# mv User.php User.php.bak
# wget https://plesk.zendesk.com/hc/article_attachments/115004329605/User.php
