Cannot synchronize subscription with the hosting plan: "Unable to set the required resource usage limit because the new value is less than the amount of resources reserved for your customers or used by yourself"

Symptoms

When attempting to synchronize a subscription with the latest version of a hosting plan, the order fails with the following error:

Top > Configuration Director > Logging and Errors > Action Log
--->8---
483934 Error Failed #14312 Provision client to Plesk
Process provisioning for document; Unable to change resource limits. Unable to set the required resource usage limit (0 domain aliases) because the new value is less than the amount of resources reserved for your customers or used by yourself (Unlimited domain aliases) . Unable to set

Attention! See Problem # p2013-07-19_20-52-10 for details.

The "domain aliases" resource is set to 0 in the subscription and in the hosting plan:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > HOSTING_PLAN > Billable Resources:
--->8---
Number of domain aliases (pc_numdomainalias) 0 of 10 unit(s)
---8<---

In addition, the "Domain aliases" limit is set to 0 in Parallels Plesk:

Parallels Plesk > Resellers > PLESK CLIENT > Resources
--->8---
Domain aliases: 0 used of 0
---8<---

--->8---

The problem is caused when the oversell permission is disabled in the Plesk Client hosting plan:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > HOSTING PLAN > Permissions
--->8---
Allow overselling []
---8<---

When a Plesk Client subscription is provisioned to a Plesk node, a new reseller is created in Parallels Plesk.

The error occurs because the resource limits of clients/domains owned by the reseller overuse the reseller's resources.

For more details on the Plesk overuse policy refer to the Administrator's Guide for Parallels Plesk 11.0 or 11.5 .

Resolution

1)Enable the "Overusage" permission in the Hosting Plan:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > HOSTING PLAN > [Plesk overusage policy] tab

2) Upgrade the subscription to the latest version of the hosting plan:

Top > Billing Director > Product Manager > Hosting Plans > HOSTING PLAN > [Subscriptions] tab

3) Synchronize the subscription.
