.htaccess file does not apply if domain configured to use php-fpm, served by Apache

Note: This article has the reference to the issue with the fix available:

  • #PPPM-3875 "The rewrite directives from the .htaccess file did not work if PHP support was enabled with the PHP-FPM handler on Apache."

Symptoms

  • Rewrite rules in .htaccess file does not apply if domain configured to use php-fpm , served by Apache:

  • Any other directives like "Deny from all" do nto work as well

Cause

ProxyPassMatch directive redirects all REQUEST_URI before the .htacces s rules were used.
This is a software issue with internal ID PPPM-3875 . It was fixed in Plesk 12.5 MU#23 .

Resolution

Apply latest Plesk microupdates .
