How to upgrade BIND?


  1. Go to http://www.isc.org/software/bind and download your desired version of BIND for Windows, e.g., version 9.10.4-P3.


  1. Stop ISC BIND service.
  2. Rename %plesk_dir%\\dns folder to dns_old .

  3. Unzip the content of downloaded and run BINDInstall.exe .

  4. Change the target directory to C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\dns

    Note : Change the target directory according to your Plesk installation.

  5. Put the Administrator in the Service Account field, set the password, confirm it and click Install .

    Note : Choose No in case of warning about too many privileges.

  6. If you do not have Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 Redistributable Package installed proceed with installing it. Otherwise choose Close .

  7. Delete the etc folder from C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\dns .

  8. Copy etc and var folders from C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\dns_old to C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Parallels\\Plesk\\dns .

  9. In Windows Services open the ISC BIND properties > Log On tab > select Local System account and click OK .

  10. Start the ISC BIND service.

  11. Refresh server's components list in Plesk > Tools & Settings > Server Components > Refresh
