Applicable to:

  • Plesk 10.4 for Linux
  • Plesk 11.0 for Linux
  • Plesk 11.5 for Windows
  • Plesk 11.5 for Linux

Symptoms

When browsing Home > Domains > domain.tld in Parallels Plesk Panel (Plesk) , the following error occurs:

Internal error: MySQL query failed: Unknown column 'php_handler_type' in 'field list'
Message MySQL query failed: Unknown column 'php_handler_type' in 'field list'
File common_func.php3
Line 220
Type PleskMainDBException

When logged in to MySQL and checking the php_handler_type colum, it is missing:

# MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysql -u admin psa

mysql> select php_handler_type from hosting;
ERROR 1054 (42S22): Unknown column 'php_handler_type' in 'field list'

Cause

Failed upgrade.

Resolution

It is recommended that you restore a pre-upgrade database dump and then re-run the upgrade procedure.

If the above scenario is not suitable, add the corresponding column manually:

  1. Create database backups:

    MYSQL_PWD=`cat /etc/psa/.psa.shadow` mysqldump -uadmin psa > /root/psa.`date +%Y%m%d.%H%M%S`.sql
  2. Add the column:

    mysql> ALTER TABLE `hosting` ADD `php_handler_type` enum('cgi','fastcgi','module')  NULL default 'module';
