How to clean up yum cache if Autoinstaller fails with "Metadata file does not match checksum"

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 11.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux

Symptoms

Autoinstaller fails with error like:

http://autoinstall-stable.plesk.com/PSA_11.5.30/dist-rpm-CentOS-5-i386/repodata/filelists.xml.gz:(http://autoinstall-stable.plesk.com/PSA_11.5.30/dist-rpm-CentOS-5-i386/repodata/filelists.xml.gz:)
[Errno -1]Metadata file does not match checksum
Trying other mirror.
NoMoreMirrorsRepoError: failure: repodata/filelists.xml.gz from PSA_11_5_30-dist:[Errno 256]No more mirrors to try.

Cause

Repodata of Plesk repositories is changed on autoinstall.plesk.com but yum uses data from its own cache.

Resolution

Temporarily reconfigure yum. Edit /etc/yum.conf , and add the following line:

http_caching=none

or

Clean up yum cache with following command :

# rm -rf /var/cache/yum/*
