[INFO] How does Plesk LDAP extension authentication works?

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux

Question

How does Plesk LDAP extension authentication works and for which type of Plesk user accounts from below?

- Plesk administrator
- Reseller accounts
- Customer accounts
- User accounts such as mail account.

Answer

To be able login to Plesk using LDAP authentication (e.g as someuser ) it is required that Plesk user with the same login name should exist in Plesk ( someuser ) and it is not related specifically to account type.

Note that user with account type User accounts such as mail account will work only if user@domain.tld user is listed as a login name in both Plesk and LDAP server. If there is user login name set on LDAP side, you need to modify user in Plesk accordingly as user
