Unable to generate a web server configuration file: No such file or directory

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.5 for Linux

Symptoms

Unable to generate the web server configuration file by Daily Maintenance script because of the following errors:

Template_Exception: httpd: Syntax error on line 221 of /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf:
Syntax error on line 6 of /etc/httpd/conf.d/zz010_psa_httpd.conf:
Syntax error on line 148 of /etc/httpd/conf/plesk.conf.d/horde.conf:
Could not open configuration file /etc/httpd/conf/plesk.conf.d/webmails/horde/example.com_webmail.conf:
No such file or directory

file: /usr/local/psa/admin/plib/Template/Writer/Webserver/Abstract.php
line: 68
code: 0

Please resolve the errors in web server configuration templates and generate the file again.

Plesk is registered in Odin Business Automation Standard.

Cause

OBAS synchronization tasks and Daily Maintenance script are trying to get access to the same *.conf files at the same time. There may also be event handlers configured on the server, which do web reconfiguration.

Resolution

  1. Change start time of Plesk Daily Maintenance script in /etc/cron.d/dailyjobs to avoid interference:

    # grep daily /etc/cron.d/dailyjobs

    4 2 * * * root [ ! -f /etc/cron.hourly/0anacron ] && run-parts /etc/cron.daily
  2. If it did not help, check Plesk event handlers that may do web reconfiguration, like the following ones:

"Default domain, DNS zone update (0) root /usr/local/psa/admin/sbin/httpdmng --reconfigure-server"
"Creating hosting setup (0) root /usr/local/psa/bin/hosting_create.sh"
  3. Disable the event handlers, if found.
