Plesk will not resolve on port 8443

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 11.x for Linux

Symptoms

Plesk 11 is installed on the server.

The port 8443 is not being blocked by a firewall on the system yet nothing is listening on the port.Firewall default policy is accept for input, output and forward.

Further checking for installed rpm packages shown:

# rpm -qa | grep sw-cp
sw-cp-server-1.0-8.201205141805.centos6.x86_64
sw-cp-server-2.0.5-201405151701.centos6.x86_64

Cause

Two version of sw-cp-server is installed

Resolution

  1. Remove incompatible package:

    # rpm -e sw-cp-server-2.0.5-201405151701.centos6.x86_64
  2. Re-install original package:

    # rpm -Uhv --force sw-cp-server-1.0-8.201205141805.centos6.x86_64.rpm

If during start following error message will appear:

Starting SWsoft control panels server.../usr/share/sw-cp-server/applications-conf.sh: line 4: /etc/sw-cp-server/applications.d/*.conf: No such file or directory
  • Download plesk-core package from http://autoinstall.plesk.com/PSA_11.0.9/ or find it locally.
    # rpm2cpio plesk-core-11.0.9-cos6.build110120608.16.x86_64.rpm |cpio -ivd ./etc/sw-cp-server/applications.d/plesk.conf
