Is it possible to use API requests to manage Plesk without initial configuration of Plesk?

Question

Is it possible to use API requests without initial configuration of Plesk 12.0.18?

Answer

It is not possible. When attempt to use API on Plesk without initially configured the following error will appear:

      <result>
<status>error</status>
<errcode>1004</errcode>
<errtext>Plesk is not configured. You should go to the control panel for postinstall server configuring.</errtext>
</result>

You can use the following utility to initially configure Plesk 12.0.18:

  1. Install license key:

    # /usr/local/psa/bin/license --install /root/PLSK.xxxxxxxxx.0000.zip
  2. Complete initial configuration of Plesk 12.0.18:

    # /usr/local/psa/bin/init_conf --init -passwd PASSWORD_FROM_PLESK -email ADMINISTRATOR_EMAIL -shared_ips add:YOUR_IP -default-ip YOUR_IP -hostname YOUR_HOSTNAME -license_agreed true -admin_info_not_required true

Example:

    # /usr/local/psa/bin/init_conf --init -passwd 1qazXSW@ -email john.doe@example.com -shared_ips add:203.0.113.2 -default-ip 203.0.113.2 -hostname plesk12.example.com -license_agreed true -admin_info_not_required true

For more information use:

    # /usr/local/psa/bin/init_conf --help
