Unable to create subscription: Unable to update domain data: (Error code -1073741819)

Symptoms

Unable to add new subscription / sub-domain due to the error;

Error: Unable to update domain data: Domain::update failed: Unable to update domain data: (Error code -1073741819)

Cause

There are can be few reasons of such behavior:

  1. Trojan program Fast and Safe is installed on the server

  2. Performance Optimizer application is installed on the server

  3. Internet Optimizer application is installed on the server

  4. Linkey malware application is installed on the server

  5. Coupon Marvel application is installed on the server

Resolution

  1. Check if the Fast and Safe program is installed in Programs and Features and remove it.

  2. To fix the issue with Performance Optimizer make sure to delete the application or switch off the module by renaming the file 'C:\\ProgramData\\Performance Optimizer\\PerformanceOptimizer_x64.dll'

  3. Remove Internet Optimizer application from the server.

  4. Remove Linkey application using Programs & Features .

  5. Switch off the module by renaming the file 'C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Coupon Marvel\\bin\\CouponMarvel64.dll' or remove the application.

Generally, Dependency Walker utility helps to trace the root cause of such issue. The corresponding command should be ran in 'depends.exe' profiler with all possible debug options, which should show the paths of loaded libraries and give you a hint on which program might intersect in the process.

You can also use Process monitor and trace the exact process which is blocking Plesk binaries to execute.
