[INFO] How to migrate a single user to another Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5 server

Resolution

Verify and upgrade Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder to the latest version.

Users and sites migration to new Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder is described in this KB article:

[How to] How to migrate sites and users to another Sitebuilder for Linux server

A single user/site may be migrated with utilities sbbackup and sbrestore .

Note : the utilities were developed for users/sites backup and restoration on a single server, but they may also work for migration. For correct work, it's recommended that you migrate users with sites, not single sites.

  • Backup a user with all its sites on source Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5 server

    Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5.9 for Linux :

    ~# /usr/local/sitebuilder/utils/sbbackup user --uuid=<user uuid> --with-sites --with-site-content --recursive --output=/BACKUP/DIR/USER.NAME_BACKUP.xml

    If the user is a Reseller, then all Site Owners that belong to the user are dumped with this command.

    You may use the following MySQL query to get a list of UUIDs for regular Sitebuilder users:

    mysql> select uuid from sitebuilder3.user where user_name not like 'admin%';

    Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5.5 for Windows :

    <SOURCE SITEBUILDER DIRECTORY>\\Utils>SBBackup.exe users --uuid=71023d4c-1278-4e57-a736-ba1d469105d3 --recursive --with-sites --with-site-content --output="C:\\USER_NAME.xml"

  • Restore the user with all its sites on destination Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5 server:

    Parallels Plesk Sitebuilder 4.5.9 for Linux :

    ~# /usr/local/sitebuilder/utils/sbrestore user --uuid=<user uuid> --with-sites --with-site-content --recursive --input=/BACKUP/DIR/USER.NAME_BACKUP.xml

    Parallels Plesk Siteubilder 4.5.5 for Windows :

    <DESTINATION SITEBUILDER DIRECTORY>\\Utils>SBRestore.exe all --input="C:\\USER_NAME.xml" --log="C:\\sbrestore_xml.log"
