I can't switch domain to the dedicated IP.

Applicable to:

  • Plesk 12.5 for Linux
  • Plesk Onyx for Linux
  • Plesk Onyx for Windows
  • Plesk 11.0 for Windows
  • Plesk 11.0 for Linux
  • Plesk 11.5 for Linux
  • Plesk 12.0 for Windows
  • Plesk 12.0 for Linux


During the migration to another server an error occurred within the domain . Dedicated IP address is no longer assigned to the domain, instead it has shared IP address .

I can't set dedicated IP for this domain.


Issue is caused by the database inconsistency which occurred atfer unsuccessful migration.


  1. Execute the following SQL query in order to check IP addresses and IP pool ID assigned to the domain:
    mysql>  SELECT ip.ip_address, ip_pool.id AS 'ip_pool.id', ip_pool.ip_address_id AS 'ip_pool.ip_address_id', ip_pool.type AS 'ip_pool.type' 
    FROM ip_pool, IP_Addresses ip, clients c, domains d
    WHERE d.cl_id=c.id AND c.pool_id=ip_pool.id AND ip_pool.ip_address_id=ip.id AND d.name='domain.tld'\\G
    *************************** 1. row ***************************
    ip_pool.id: 8
    ip_pool.ip_address_id: 10
    ip_pool.type: shared
    1 row in set (0.00 sec)

Most probably here would be only one IP address and it would be 'shared' (like in the above example).

  1. Make required IP address is available for the Customer:
    mysql> select id, ip_address  from  IP_Addresses;
    | id | ip_address |
    | 2 | |
    | 1 | |
    | 10 | |
    6 rows in set (0.00 sec)

    mysql> insert into ip_pool (id,ip_address_id,type) values (8,1,'exclusive');

Where 8 is the ip_pool.id (from p.1) and 1 is the IP address id.

  1. Assign proper IP address to domain from Plesk Panel: Home > Subscriptions > domain.tld > Changing Hosting Settings
