- Apache does not recognize national charset in files with accents in the filename, so images are not displayed on a web page. However, files already exist on the server. For example, character
àis shown as
- On a web page, some national characters are shown incorrectly.
UTF-8 support is not configured.
- Log into the server via SSH.
- Open Apache configuration file
etc/httpd/conf/httpd.confwith any test editor.
AddDefaultCharsetdirective and set it to
UTF-8, so the directive would look like:
CONFIG_TEXT: AddDefaultCharset UTF-8
- Restart Apache
# service httpd restart
